Students in the Health Informatics program at the School of Informatics and Computing were recently awarded Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Indiana scholarships.
The HIMSS Foundation awards scholarships to HIMSS student members who have achieved academic excellence and have the potential to be leaders in the healthcare information and management systems industry.
The winning students were awarded scholarships in varying amounts. The list of award recipients is as follows:
Hamed Abedtash Ph.D. $2,500
David Chartash Ph.D. $2,500
Kathy Vanosdol M.S. $2,500
Brad Richards M.S. $5,000
The School of Informatics and Computing would like to recognize and congratulate these students whose excellence in the classroom has resulted in them receiving this scholarship.
“Several deserving students across the state applied for the HIMSS Indiana Scholarship. We are very excited that four of the scholarships awarded this year went to these outstanding students in the Health Informatics program,” said Health Informatics Director and Associate Professor of Health Informatics Dr. Josette Jones.
HIMSS is a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information technology. HIMSS leads efforts to optimize health engagements and care outcomes using information technology.
