IUPUI faculty and students were recognized for academic excellence, achievements in research and other outstanding accomplishments at the Chancellor’s Academic Honors Convocation. IUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz presided over the event. Honorees from the School of Informatics and Computing were:
Anna M. McDaniel, Ph.D., RN, FAAN
McDaniel, Professor of Health Informatics, was given the prestigious rank of Chancellor’s Professor. This title is the most distinguished appointment attainable by faculty, and recognizes those who display a record of extensive accomplishment and leadership in teaching, research and campus service. McDaniel is also Professor of Environments for Health and Assistant Dean for Research at the School of Nursing.
Josette Jones, Ph.D.
Jones, Assistant Professor of Health Informatics, was recipient of the Trustees Teaching Award. This distinction honors individuals who have a positive impact on learning through the direct teaching of students. Jones’ area of expertise is nursing informatics.
Courtney Renee’ Moffett
Moffett, a senior in the Health Information Administration (HIA) program, was named a Chancellor’s Scholar. Chosen by faculty within each school on campus, recipients of this award represent the university’s best undergraduate students in the areas of academic performance, leadership and research, among other factors. Moffett holds a 3.99 cumulative GPA, is a member of the National Society for Leadership and has been named to the Dean’s List on a consistent basis. She is currently the Vice President of the HIA Connection and is a Resident Assistant for the Office of Housing and Residence Life.
