Students in the Media Arts and Science program must successfully complete a minimum of 120 credit hours. Students must earn a C- or higher in all courses and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher to graduate.
Transfer students should consult an academic advisor from our school regarding potential course exceptions and/or substitutions.

At least 42 credit hours must be NEWM courses, with at least 12 hours at the 300-level, 9 hours at the 400-level and 21 hours at any level. This would include courses in your specialization.

You may also select up to 12 hours from the list of selectives below. Students can also add a Studio Art and Technology minor to their degree.
These classes count toward the NEWM required courses, but do not fall under any specific specialization.
You may select up to 12 hours of selectives toward your Media Arts and Science major. While you can fill this requirement with additional NEWM classes, you can also choose classes outside of the major from related programs. This can include choosing a supportive minor, like Studio Art and Technology (among many others), to their degree.
