A central mission of the Luddy Artificial Intelligence Center in Indianapolis is to build interdisciplinary collaborative research teams within IU Indianapolis for major external funding opportunities. In addition to fundamental AI research, we will adopt an end-to-end application-centric problem-solving approach that applies advanced AI technologies to a broader spectrum of application domains to enhance the competitiveness of research capabilities at IU Indianapolis.
This integrative approach aims to combine the core AI theory and algorithms (e.g. machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing) with a full range of other technologies, such as human-computer interaction, visualization, and cyber-physical systems, to provide enhanced AI capabilities to solve large scale and complex application problems.
