The School of Informatics and Computing (SoIC) at IUPUI, and Parkland College in Champaign Illinois, have signed an agreement to offer students an opportunity to complete an Indiana University Bachelor of Science degree on the IUPUI campus.
Through the credit-transfer agreement, Parkland College students who obtain an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Digital Media can now transfer to IUPUI to complete a Bachelor of Science in Media Arts and Science in the School of Informatics and Computing in only two years.
Parkland students interested in transferring will be able to apply 60 credit hours from a completed associate’s degree to meet the requirements of the IUPUI degree, as long as they meet minimum GPA requirements, and have completed an application to IUPUI.
“This is a great opportunity for those students with an interest in digital media who decide they would like to continue their education to attain a four year BS degree, in a field at the forefront of innovation and cutting-edge interactive communication. This agreement will provide Parkland students a clear pathway to accomplishing a Bachelor of Science, and ultimately assisting them in achieving their dream of a career in digital media, which includes a world of opportunities in a variety of industries, from web and mobile design and development, video production, 3D modelling and animation, digital gaming and much more,” said Davide Bolchini, Chair for the Department of Human-Centered Computing at the School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI.
The agreement will take effect Spring 2015. For more details about admissions as a transfer student to the School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI, visit our Undergraduate Admissions – Transfer Students page on our website.
