The ACM SIGGRAPH IUPUI Student Chapter hosted Geomedia interactive director and owner of ZOO A.R., Jeremy Kenisky, as part of their monthly speaker series. Kenisky shared insight from his years of experience in the animation/3D industry with students at the School of Informatics and Computing.
During his presentation, Kenisky touched upon a number of topics and subjects pertaining to the world of 3D and animation. He talked about the many different ways in which Geomedia uses 3D, animation, and other special effects to meet business needs outside of the entertainment industry. He also mentioned his other company, ZOO A.R., and the exciting things they are doing for museums and zoos in respect to cutting edge technology they are designing for Android and Ipad Tablets.
After his formal presentation, Kenisky was gracious enough to stick around to answer student questions about jobs, breaking into the industry, and portfolios.
“Jeremy and others like his team are doing exciting and innovative things with the tools our students use for game development and animation,” said the group’s faculty advisor and Media Arts and Science lecturer, Zeb Wood. Its time our students explored ways to take what they know, and apply it to new and exciting business opportunities. Thanks to Jeremy’s visit, students are excited!”
The ACM SIGGRAPH IUPUI Student Chapter’s goal is to create a campus-wide collaborative organization for students to promote computer graphics, interactive techniques and creativity. Member benefits include access to job and internship opportunities, guest lecturers, workshops, competitions, potential collaborators and the annual SIGGRAPH national conference.
