Description
This course introduces the health information management profession and healthcare delivery systems. Topics include healthcare settings, the patient record, electronic health records (EHRs), data collection standards, legal aspects of health information, coding, and reimbursement. Students gain hands-on experience with a virtual EHR and examine the impact of EHRs on healthcare.
