One of the most anticipated events on the calendar for the IU School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI is just around the corner, and you are invited to attend! On Friday, April 26, 4:00-8:00 P.M., graduating students from the School of Informatics and Computing will be presenting their Capstone projects.
The Capstone is the culmination of a student’s academic experience, and an opportunity to demonstrate competence in various aspects of study within the School of Informatics and Computing. With skill sets firmly in place, students design and complete a faculty-mentored capstone project during their final semester. This project signals a student’s readiness to graduate and is a showcase of their knowledge and skill within their chosen specialty area(s).
While for some, a Capstone will demonstrate their particular specialty, many projects require the application of several different kinds of experiences and expertise. All are the result of many, many hours of work possibly in a computer animation lab, or grasping the intricacies of databases and project management.
Students, faculty, staff, employers, families, and the public are invited to attend the Capstone presentations and to talk with students about their projects. New this year, there will also be projects and posters featured from students in Health Information Administration and Informatics.
Projects include:
- Digital storytelling
- Gaming
- Health Information Administration
- Informatics
- Interactive media
- Video and sound production
- Web development
