Luddy Indianapolis students can explore even more career and research options as the school adds a new Department of Computer Science this summer.
With opportunities fueled by industry partnerships, students can develop the skills needed for today’s computer science jobs. They’ll also be prepared to create future careers in the rapidly evolving tech industry in Indiana and beyond, digging deep into artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and other areas.
“The new Computer Science Department will capitalize on IU’s multidisciplinary research to offer novel solutions and catalyze collaboration among faculty, industry, governmental agencies and communities,” said Joanna Millunchick, Ph.D., dean of the Luddy School.
“Students will have access to robust interdisciplinary research experiences and industry leaders that will equip them for success in the workplace and drive innovation that improves lives.”
Luddy Indianapolis Executive Associate Dean Davide Bolchini, Ph.D., noted, “Luddy’s new computer science department marks a milestone in Indianapolis’s educational landscape.”
“The fusion of research excellence and industry partnerships underscores our commitment to nurturing a diverse talent pool that will drive innovation in Indiana and beyond,” adds Bolchini, a professor of human-centered computing.
A 21st century computer science curriculum
IU’s Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in Indianapolis is adding the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science
- Master of Science in Computer Science
