Susan Tennant, M.F.A., assistant director and associate clinical professor of media arts and science at the IU School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI, is set to unveil a new installation in Indianapolis beginning September 3.
Tennant’s work, titled Weaving Through Walls, will be featured at the Christopher West Presents gallery beginning September 3 with an opening reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is her first installation at the gallery, located at 646 Massachusetts Avenue.
Her sculptures and installations often use the physical properties and characteristics of tension to represent a metaphorical connection between the physical and the psychological.
Tennant received her B.F.A. in Ceramic Art and Design from S.U.N.Y.’s Alfred University and her M.F.A. from Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI. She is a past Master Fellow recipient of the National Endowment of the Arts, as well as a three-time recipient of the Indiana Arts Commission Distinguished Master Fellowship.
