Lou Lenzi, FIDSA, an HCI professor of practice at the IU School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI, has been selected as a juror for the 2019 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). According to the IDSA website, the forty-member panel is composed of designers, thought-leaders and visionaries who “epitomize the very best of the industrial design community.”
These experts represent industry, consultancy, academia, and private practice and are charged with reviewing nearly 2,000 entries across 19 categories.
Prior to joining the school, Lenzi spent 36 years as an industrial designer and executive at several multinational corporations, including IBM, Thomson/RCA, and GE. In 2016, he was named one of the Top 50 Industrial Designers over the last 50 years by IDSA.
IDEA is one of the largest and most prestigious design awards programs in the world, recognizing exceptional achievement as well as highlighting design strategy, branding, digital interaction, and more. Winning entries earn a home at the Henry Ford Museum as part of its permanent collection.
