Earn a Google Data Analytics Certification & College Credit
Thanks to our 3E grant, iDEW is able to offer high school students the opportunity to earn Google Data Analytics certification AND take classes for college credit.
Currently iDEW is piloting this program with 19 students from Arsenal Tech, Pike and the McKenzie Center for Innovation and Technology. A second cohort of approximately 56 students will begin their work in summer 2023.
Acquiring real-world tech skills
The Google Data Analytics Certificate allows students to acquire in-demand, job-ready skills, including how to analyze and process data. They also earn college credit for four courses through Luddy Indianapolis. The grant from the Indiana Department of Education pays for the IU credit hours as well as expenses related to the Google certificate.
LaunchBoard's Jim Lyst, an adjunct instructor at Luddy Indianapolis who works closely with iDEW, has worked closely with students earning the Google certification to troubleshoot, help them stay on track and otherwise offer support.
