Indirect Cost Recovery (ICR) and Budget Policies for External Proposal Submissions

The school follows Indiana University’s policies on Facilities & Administration (F&A) rates and ICR distribution guidelines described at: https://research.iu.edu/funding-proposals/proposals/budgets/rates.html.

Based on IU ICR distribution policies, ICR from external grants in the school will be distributed as follows:

• 30% of ICR will be retained centrally by IU;
• 10% of the ICR will go to the research account of the PIs;
• 10% of the ICR will go to the departments of PIs;
• 50% of the ICR will be retained in the school.
