Biography
Yuchen Liang is an Assistant Professor at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Indianapolis. Before joining IU, he was an AI-EDGE postdoctoral researcher at The Ohio State University, co-supervised by Yingbin Liang and Ness B. Shroff. His research is at the intersection of generative models, statistical inference, and trustworthy AI, with a goal to understand the mathematical foundations of modern machine learning algorithms and to design methods that are both theoretically sound and practically effective. He has published research articles in leading machine learning, signal processing, and information theory venues, including NeurIPS, ICLR, AISTATS, IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, and ICASSP.
