Archives Management Certificate

Certificate requirements

The certificate requires a total of 18 credit hours.

The Archives Management Certificate is not available to currently enrolled MLIS students. MLIS students may pursue the archives management specialization or are welcome to take selected archives courses as a generalist.

Students without a MLS or MLIS are required to take a foundations course, LIS-S 500 Methods and Tools for the Information Profession. This additional course increases the certificate requirements to 21 credit hours. The LIS-S 507 foundations course, frequently listed as a pre-requisite, is not required.

Students may transfer up to 6 credit hours of archives coursework from an ALA accredited program.
